Gold & Copper Mine — Tailings Water Management
The Challenges
Discharge limits required fine particulates removed from tailings water and contaminated underground flows before release to settling ponds — with no spare lay-down area on site.
Our Approach
Twenty-eight 1,000 m³ dewatering tubes were laid directly over soft tailings inside the TSF. Some settlement into the tailings occurred, but the units dewatered strongly and met the discharge objective.
