Coal TSF — Redirection of Tailings Flow

The Challenges

A coal TSF needed more usable storage without major earthworks.

Our Approach

Tubes of varying diameter were pumped with slurry and arranged as berms — effectively flumes — to redirect tailings flow and open storage in targeted areas, laid over an HDPE protection mat on the existing tailings. A reminder that the system can reshape how a TSF fills, not just dewater.
